A press desk for founders without a PR budget

Why we built it

We have sat on both sides of the pitch: deciding which stories run, building companies that needed coverage, and backing founders who had to earn it. Early-stage founders need press for fundraising, hiring and sales, but a PR retainer typically starts around $5,000 a month with a three to six month minimum. Earned gives founders the publicist's workflow at software prices: who to pitch, what to say, and which awards, conferences and stages are worth their time.

How we research the data

1. Reporters. The directory of 750+ reporters, editors and podcast hosts is researched by hand, not scraped in bulk. Each entry has a beat, an outlet and a note on what the reporter covers. About 4 in 10 have a direct email on file (330+); for the rest we point you to LinkedIn, X or the outlet's tips page.
2. Awards and lists. 70+ awards, lists and fellowships, each with its eligibility, entry fee, how winners are chosen and the next deadline. Every deadline is marked as confirmed (published by the organizer) or estimated (based on the previous cycle).
3. Conferences and speaking. 170+ conferences with dates, ticket prices, access and who attends, plus how each one chooses its speakers.
4. Corrections. When an organizer changes a date or a reporter changes beats, we update the record. If you spot something out of date, use the help button on any page and tell us.

How we use AI

1. Earned uses AI to rank matches and draft pitches, notes and applications.
2. Drafts use only the facts in your profile. Anything missing is flagged for you to fill in rather than invented.
3. You review and send every pitch yourself, from your own inbox. Earned never emails reporters for you, and it does not guarantee coverage, awards or speaking slots.
