Terms of service

These terms apply when you use Earned (earned.press), including the free reporter match, the paid plans, the Editors' Council review and our member webinars. By using Earned you agree to them.

What Earned does

Earned helps founders find reporters who cover their space, draft pitches and award applications, and track their outreach. Earned never sends emails or pitches to reporters for you. You decide what to send and you send it yourself.

We do not promise coverage, awards or any other result. Reporters and editors decide what they write about.

Your account

• Give us accurate information and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• One account is for one company. Do not share a login with another company.

Plans and billing

• Every plan starts with a free trial (currently 3 days) with a limited allowance (currently 60 credits, at most 6 reporters and 1 put-forward request; credit packs are not sold during the trial). A card is required at sign-up. You may end the trial early with Unlock now, which charges your card that day and starts your full plan. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your plan starts and you are charged for your first quarter or year. Cancel any time during the trial in Billing and you are not charged. Launch's included Editors' Council review becomes available once the trial converts.
• Each plan includes a monthly allowance of credits, used for reporter unlocks, AI drafts and put-forward requests. Credits reset each month on the day your plan started; quarterly plans do not roll credits over, and annual plans roll over up to one month's allowance. Credit packs are one-time purchases used after your plan's credits and expire at the end of the calendar quarter they were bought in. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
• Paid plans are billed quarterly or annually through Stripe and renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
• You can cancel any time from your account. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and we do not refund partial periods.
• The Editors' Council review is a one-time purchase. Launch plans include one review each calendar quarter, and unused reviews do not carry over.
• We may change prices with notice. A change applies from your next renewal.

Referral credits

When a founder you refer becomes a paying member, you and they each receive bonus credits (currently 200 extra credits), used after your monthly credits run out. Rewards apply to up to 10 referrals per member. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred, do not extend a subscription and are never applied to the subscription price. Referring yourself or creating accounts to earn credits is not allowed, and we may remove credits earned that way.

Reporter information

Reporter contact details in Earned are for your own outreach about your own company. You agree not to:

• copy, export in bulk, resell or share the directory;
• send bulk, automated or unrelated messages to reporters;
• contact anyone who has asked not to be contacted, or break anti-spam laws such as CAN-SPAM.

We may suspend accounts that misuse reporter information.

AI drafts

Earned uses AI to suggest matches, angles and drafts based on what you tell us. Read and check everything before you send it. You are responsible for what you send and for making sure it is accurate.

Editors' Council and member webinars

Council reviews and member webinars are given by former editors and offer their opinion and advice. They are not endorsements, and the publications they once worked for are not affiliated with Earned. Session times may change, and replays are available in your account.

Earned Wire

When you order an Earned Wire release, Earned acts as your agent to distribute it through a third-party newswire, with your company named as the issuer. You confirm that the facts in the release are true and that you have the right to publish them. Earned reviews every release and may decline content the newswire would reject, such as token offerings, medical claims or guaranteed returns; if we decline, you get a full refund. You may cancel for a full refund until the release is scheduled; once it is live there is no refund. No release or pitch guarantees coverage. Announcement Bank credits are valid for 12 months from purchase.

Your content

You own what you put into Earned, such as your company profile and drafts. You give us permission to store and process it to run the service, as described in our privacy policy.

Ending your use

You can stop using Earned at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Disclaimers and limits

Earned is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
