When is the deadline?
The next deadline is 13 November 2026, confirmed.
Applications are open now. Pitch event and winners 16-17 March 2027 in Austin.
How competitive is it?
SXSW Pitch is competitive but realistic for a company with real traction. A specific, well-proven entry beats a polished one with vague claims. It is followed internationally, so a place on it travels: investors, customers and reporters outside your home market will recognize it.
A plan to prepare your entry
Counting back from the deadline of 13 November 2026 (confirmed):
- By As soon as possible: Collect your proof. Growth numbers with dates, customers or partners willing to be named, and links to any coverage.
- By As soon as possible: Write the core answers. What is new, why now, and the three facts that prove it, each with a number or a name.
- By 6 November 2026: Get a cold read and check the rules. Have someone outside the company read it, cut anything that cannot be checked, and confirm the current rules on the official page.
- 13 November 2026: Deadline. Submit a few days before this date rather than on it.
What makes an entry stand out
- Lead with three facts you can prove, each with a number or a name: growth over a stated period, a named customer or partner, a round and who led it.
- Say what is new in one sentence: what you do that others in your field do not, and why it matters now.
- Link to proof wherever the form allows: coverage, product pages, published results.
- Write for a tired reader. Judges and editors read hundreds of entries. Plain and specific beats long and polished.
